1st International Conference on Computer, Communication, Control and Information Technology – (C3IT)

The 1st International Conference on Computer, Communication, Control and Information Technology (C3IT-2009) was organized by Academy of Technology during 6-7th February, 2009 in the Campus of Academy of Technology. The Conference was sponsored by AICTE, CSIR, ISRO, IEEE LEOS Kolkata Chapter, and IEEE EDS Kolkata Chapter.
Prof. Kiyotoshi Yasumoto Department of Computer Science and Communication Engineering, Kyushu University, Japan inaugurated the Conference. Prof. S. Sengupta, Vice chancellor, West Bengal University of Technology was the guest of honor. Prof. N. B. Chakrabarti (Emeritus Professor, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur,) was the Keynote Speaker.

Invited speakers of fame and repute were Prof. Kiyotoshi Yasumoto Kyushu University, Japan; Prof. S.C. DuttaRoy of Delhi I.I.T.; Prof B.P. Sinha of ISI Kolkata; Prof. Baidyanath Basu formerly of BHU, Varanasi and Dr P.Banerjee of NPL. Delhi. None the less were Prof. C.K. Sarkar and Prof. Bhaskar Gupta of Jadavpur University and Prof. N.R.Das of Calcutta University.
Participants were from Japan, Turkey, Bangladesh and from various parts of India. Out of 257 papers submitted for presentation, 80 papers were selected for Oral Presentation and 18 papers were for Poster Presentation. The Conference Schedule spanned over two days had Invited talks followed by three sessions running in parallel.
To commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose, a student paper competition was arranged and three prizes were declared by the Judges of the Competition.
